London Osteoporosis Clinic Establishes the Global Osteoporosis Foundation
🌟 Prevention Over Intervention: LOC Supports GOF and Other Charities 🌟
At London Osteoporosis Clinic, the belief is that prevention is better than any subsequent medical intervention. To promote this approach, LOC donates to the Global Osteoporosis Foundation and supports other charities dedicated to the field.
The charity’s objectives are:
The advancement of health for the public benefit by assisting in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and associated health conditions, in particular, but not exclusively, by:
- providing information to patients and raising awareness amongst health professionals, policy makers and the general public to all aspects of osteoporosis and all similar and related conditions;
- supporting study and research into the causes of osteoporosis, its prevention and treatment and publishing and disseminating the useful results of latest research; and
- establishing awareness programmes which promote healthy lifestyle changes that may help to prevent or alleviate osteoporosis”
Help Raise Awareness about Osteoporosis & Bone Fractures
Osteoporosis is a significant global health concern, leading to millions of fractures every year. It’s time for us to take action and raise awareness about this silent epidemic. Together, we can work towards eradicating osteoporosis-related bone breaks and preventing unnecessary suffering.
📈 The Facts:
- 524,000 osteoporosis-related fractures occur in the UK annually
- 9 million osteoporosis-related fractures occur worldwide
- Shockingly, only 2 in 10 bone breaks receive follow-up tests or treatments for osteoporosis
🚑 The Challenge: As rationing increases within healthcare systems like the NHS, these numbers are expected to rise. We need to make it clear that this is UNACCEPTABLE, especially considering the availability of effective, painless diagnostics and treatments that can reverse osteoporosis.
👨👩👧👦 Spread the Word: Please help us raise awareness about osteoporosis and the importance of bone health. Encourage your family and friends to learn more about early diagnosis and treatment options. Share this message and engage in conversations about osteoporosis prevention and management.
